Today’s lesson teaches doing good for the sake of the Gospel. Titus isn’t a book I’ve personally spent a lot of time in, however, in reading this chapter, it was some basic instruction and easy understanding of how to teach.
7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
Do what is good. In teaching (but in everything else too) show integrity, be serious about what you teach, and speak the truth so that no one can say anything against what is being spoken.
I cannot speak about what isn’t written, and I must be able to back my what I teach with biblical truths.
12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, (Titus 2:12-13)
Lord, help me to always do good, especially when it comes to teaching Your Word. Help me to take Your Word seriously and always strive to bring You honor and glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
